Pieter SLAGBOOM’s recent installations emphasize the thematic connections between individual drawings. This has led him to work not only with large monolithic surfaces but also with polyptychs. In these polyptychs, he doesn't merely divide a single image but combines multiple images to create a shift within the subject matter, offering a new perspective. The technique also differs; he uses stretched canvases, re-preparing them to form a surface that allows for the creation of a vibrant color glow. His work addresses the radical nature of the biology we live in, which contrasts sharply with our culture, making his pieces essentially anti-cultural.
